When we were introduced to Tom it was an instant connection. We knew he was the one for us. We had been sailors for 28 years but now were trawler owners. A huge shift in knowledge. We need to learn how to handle this new to us monster. A scheduling issue meant our training had to be split between Tom and his partner. Tom’s approach to teaching us how to learn to handle her was gentle, not so gentle when necessary, with knowledge and humour and always with sensitivity when we doubted ourselves. He made our maiden voyage with us from Kemah to Galveston which gave us the confidence we needed to make the long trek to Canada. When you hire Tom you will make lifelong friends with him and Patty. They are truly a unique couple who you will be very fortunate to have in your life. Our only wish is that we could have spent more time with him under his tuition.
